Red Bull Air Race World Series Final in Perth, Western Australia. Recorded on 2nd November 2008. Video includes: Nigel Lamb (Team Breitling) Flying around the course, and a Boeing F/A-18 Hornet flying with raw audio. Here it scream past ! no, I didn’t get up to mach 1, I was there and it defently DID NOT go pass Mach 1.

That supersonic stuff is crap. The RAAF are not allowed to do it in built up areas. The hornet did the exact same thing at Avalon. In this video, it gets nowhere near Mach 1, but it got to 0.99 Mach at Avalon.

Shame about the wind blowing and the camera shake. As for the 18 going supersonic, it is nowhere near that kind of speed and is not allowed to travel above subsonic over built up areas.

fuck this year it was AWSOME ,that hornet was unbeleivable, wilst he didn’t win i reckon nigel lamb was the best that weekend

Thanks for your footage of the hornet. Missed the best part of the show sitting in a bus in traffic. Maybe next time you could have a drink before hand to steady your hands. LOL

At 6:29 someone is heard saying “supersonic” near the cameraman. As far as I know, it’s illegal internationally to go supersonic at airshows. This pilot did not break the sound barrier here.
